The product is equipped with an Intel Pentium M 600MHz/Celeron M 1.0GHz embedded automation computer which supports a pre-configured Windows XP Embedded Operating system plus IntraVUE Lite Network Management software.

To make it value-added, the Rhino-220IL comes with pre-installed IntraVUE Lite Network Management software. The Combo Hardware and Software packages simplifies installation designed for Control Networks. It comes with dual Ethernet connections providing the scanning ofr a control network to be fully isolated from access on a second management network. The stand alone unit is also ideal for remote isolated I/O networks or OEM systems where there may not be a computer available to run the IntraVUE software. The Rhino-220IL requires no monitor, keyboard or mouse, as all viewing and administration can be accoplished remotely. Running 24 x 7 means the appliance is constantly monitoring, trending and logging all activities.

The Rhino-220IL hardware is a stand-out. It supports SO-DIMM 400 FSB memory up to 1GB. The Intel® 82562ET 10/100 Ethernet controller provides sufficient network traffic for data exchanges. In addition, the special designed I/O supports four serial ports for legacy device connection that includes two RS-422/485 interfaces with Automatic Flow Control, ±15KV ESD protected and optical isolation with 2000VDC through a 10-pin screw terminal connector. For memory back-up, an optional NVRAM socket is reserved which offers optional dedicated plug-in NVRAM memory.
