In the recent sanitation projects, three cities in Southeast Asia aim to reduce environmental problems and unfavorable effects of flooding and poor sanitation by means of deploying an improved waste management and sanitation infrastructures.

The project involved the construction and installation of a new Sequencing Batch Reactor wastewater treatment plant and required 80 km of drainage channels, 10 km of sewer pipes and the construction of three sanitary landfills along with two septic sludge treatment plants.
