Ethernet Direct Announces New Generation Slim Series Industrial Ethernet Switches Compliant with Class 1 Division 2

Taipei, Taiwan, 8 March, 2010 – Ethernet Direct Corporation, a professional and primary provider of industrial networking and communication solutions announces a new generation slim unmanaged industrial Ethernet switch series certified by major industry standards, and especially engineered for mission-critical applications, industrial control applications and hazardous environments. There are various certifications for different market applications and Ethernet Direct is committed to providing truly rugged design industrial devices.
The new slim UL Class 1 Division 2 and UL 508 certified unmanaged industrial Ethernet switches come in Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet connectivity options. These switches support supports 12 to 48VDC redundant power inputs and is secured with power polarity reverse protection and overload current protection. The IP-30 housing, extended operating temperature of -40 to 80℃, and DIN-Rail mounting makes the series suitable for an industrial environment in addition to the added benefits of having hazardous environment approval involving intrinsic safety. Hazardous environments are defined by the National Electrical Code (NEC). These areas can be typically exposed to dangers such as fire or explosion which occurs due to flammable gases or vapor, flammable liquids, combustible dust, or ignitable substances.
